Ian Wardle understands that effective financial planning is rooted in education. After completing his undergraduate studies in business at the University of California Riverside, Ian began his career in Financial Planning for a large Broker-Dealer. While he was grateful for the opportunity to gain experience in the field and learn the business from other veteran advisors, he was disheartened by some of the limitations that come with a large organization and the “one-size-fits-all” approach that he found to be the dominant attitude at many companies.

Ian knew there must be a way to connect his lifelong people-first philosophy with effective financial planning. After a brief stint at an independent firm in Southern California Ian partnered with Lifeworks Advisors in 2023 to provide unbiased financial advice to successful millennials and baby boomers. “We take the time to learn what matters most to our clients and take an education-first approach to ensure they are well versed on the strategies and options available to lead an abundant financial life and retirement.”

The education-first approach came from seeing his family lose a prized vacation cottage in Laguna Beach, California. This home had been in his family for generations and was where he spent most of his summers growing up. It was a staple in his family as a gathering place for holidays and birthdays. “Had there been a plan in place things could have been much different,” Ian says. This impactful life event drives Ian each and every day to ensure his clients and others in the community are educated about finances so they don’t have to lose their own version of the “Laguna Beach house” This has led Ian to develop financial literacy and education courses taught at local universities and community centers to educate the public on the importance and power of sound financial planning.
